In Outlook 2000 I created a folder which I do not want to see all the time. Is there a way to hide it?

You can move it to another folder like sent or drafts. That'll create a "+" (plus) sign in front of the folder you choose.

  3. to hide this advert.

    Thanks Steve,
it's not quite the answer but it might have to do. What I really want to achieve is, to hide it so no one can have access to it other than myself.

    Hi 22212344

Never used Outlook. Used Outlook Express very briefly. I thought you could share a email account, but could create different identities to the same account. Don't know if this would allow "different" folder(s) ownership. The simply solution would have your own email account password protected.

I finally found the answer myself:
In the 'View' menu click on 'Folder List'. Delete the shortcuts you don't want. In the 'File' menu click on 'New', go to 'Outlook Bar Shortcut ....' and choose the shortcuts you want, one at a time.
Go to 'View' and uncheck 'Folder List'. Now you are only left with the folders you want to see. Folders you only use occasionally can be made visible again by going to File/New/Outlook Bar Shortcut ....
