Moving this to the Security section.

    - download, update, run Ad-aware and then the same with Spybot, Search & Destroy.

    - run a virus scan using the RAV online scanner and let it clean any bad things it finds.

    - set the home page back to where you want it.

    - Use Spybot to lock the home page so it can't be changed without unlocking.

If it gets hijacked again (possible) then download Hijack This, run it without taking any action, and copy/paste the log file here.

Note: if you need help locating any of the resources, a quick search on here will give you links.

Is at the MVPwinhelp2000 and is just a reg tweek,

I was mentioning it to Newt not you
becouse It would be better to use spywareguard or StartPageGuard

Thanks Lonny and others. That makes sense once you mention it. Gave me a real DOH moment that I hadn't thought the thing thru before offering advice.

Home page can be fixed without a program with this file

Home page hijacking can also be prevented without a program using this file

    Hello rcerrato,

Thanks for the reference, I'll save it for people that don't want to use a 3rd party program like StartpageGuard - see my ealier post, which does the same thing and in the same way with the difference that it resets the Home page to whatever you set it to originally.

    Regards - Charles
