Resolved Here is the specs what should my UL DL speed be

Hi, I have an old Dell latitude C-640 xp that I am just fooling around with.

I am getting DL speeds of 50 mbps UL 10 mbps on my new w-7 laptop. Comcast just increased my speed.

On the C-640 I am getting UL 1.9 mbps and DL also around 1.9 mbps. Is this normal for this computer. It's only got 512mb of ram and a 1.0 usb port, to give you an idea of how old it is. Below is a partial spec report of a Belarc scan.

I don't want to put any large amount money into it, as it really sits in the closet, but still I enjoy bringing it out once in awhile and was wondering if I bump up the ram to to 1gb (the max it will take) if it will speed up the UL & DL speed.

Again, I am just fooling around, and wanted to know if my UL/DL speeds are normal for this configuration, and if I can find (get free) 1gb of ram for if it will increase my speeds. It has two slots with two 256mb sticks in it now. I'll need two 512mb sticks to get 1gb

Increasing your RAM will not make your network card work faster.
However, yours seems to be a wireless, and that opens up another nest, WPA vs WPA2.
In short, WPA2 is a faster network connection, and a bunch more secure.
Your wireless network card on the C64 is WPA, that is why it is slower.
