When i had windows 98 SE and Office 97 or 2000, i used to have a font "Helvetica ". Now i have upgraded to Office and Windows XP, and it seems that this font is not included anymore in the Fonts Folder.

Is there anyway from where i can get this font (downloading it, or extracting it from my old 98 CD)

    Thank You

Helvetica is the same as Arial.

While I agree that the 2 font styles are different (slightly), you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that can really distinguish between the 2 of them. Their differences are so subtle that one needs a magnifying glass and/or a hex editor to tell them apart.

In web documents if the Helvetica font is specified and the viewer does not have it installed, any Windows web browsers will use Arial by default.

Interestingly enough, I have been dealing with the Helvetica font the past few weeks at work.

Unfortunately, the Helvetica font is one that you cannot download for free. The cheapest I can find it is $21, but good like finding just the regular one - the family of fonts has about 80.

The only letters I have found that are different between arial, and helvetica are 't', and 'a'. I would just use arial. It's easier, cheaper, and more readily available.
