My wife's computer recently gave up the ghost. I am trying to import her address book from back up into my Microsoft outlook contact list...but it does not seem to want to work. I use outlook and she uses Outlook express.

    Robar,

I presume you opened Outlook, clicked on File, then selected Import, then selected Import Internet Mail and Addresses, then chose Outlook Express. If you did, then by going to the folder that contains the pbx file, it should have imported. If you did not, then try the instructions and see if it works.

    How about an Outlook Forum??
Outlook is used very widely by business.

Then perhaps people will not lose their postings ...

You've got a little gotcha there.

First of all, your wifes files are going to be .dbx files if you are trying to read them from her drive. You can copy them and drop them into your computer's file store for Outlook Express but they can't be pasted directly into Outlook. Once in Outlook Express you can import them to Outlook Contacts. Your Outlook file stores are .pst files.

Another other option is to export her address book if her computer is running and then import the address book into Outlook. I think this approach still works but haven't done it that way for a couple of few Office Versions now.

    ;)
