Hello, this is a topic about how come the "logged out" screen I get from logging out of my email appears at other places but my home pc. The description is as follows.

    3. When I log out of my email account at home, I do not see that the "sign out" appears as it does when I log into and log out at other places. Such as school, or a family members pc. I would like to know why this is, and how I can have the "sign out" feature, appear when I use my email from home.

Please explain. Are you loging out or not?
What steps are you doing when you say you log out?
Are you getting your email from a Web Site or are you using a PROGRAM like Outlook Express?

When I say, logging out, I mean, I log out. This intails that I click on the "sign out" hyperlink that is in the upper left of the window screen, when I log into my email. The email service I am specifically referring to is the one provided by www.yahoo.com.

It won't say "logged out ". Yahoo email page says, "Sign In." Once signed in, at the top of the page it says, "Sign Out ", afterwhich one is sent to the Yahoo main page where it says, "You are signed out" and one can again sign in.

The part where, after clicking on "Sign Out" at the top of the page, once signed in, and being directed to the Yahoo main page, is where my dilemma is. The "You are signed out" does not appear. It appears when I log into my email at school, at a family members pc, but not on my home pc.

I would like to know why the "You are signed out" does not appear on my home pc. In addition, I would like to know how do I remedy this. So I can see the "You are signed out" from my home pc, when I log out of my email.

Do you have a "Page Options" link or tab {may be in upper right corner area}?

Is it showing an option to "switch to compact or full view "?

If it is set for "compact view" you may be missing the sign in/out options where they would be expected or desired try clicking/setting and looking at Yahoo from a full view.

    See:
    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/homepage/homepage/basics/homepage-93.html

Other than the above, keep in mind that yahoo comes in many flavors now, from "classic" to a fancy "new" to a more personalized "My Yahoo" site. You may have to look around and experiment with the many view and setting options each offers.

I hope this helps a little...:)

    firefox

    extensions: CookieCuller and Better Privacy

With each 'protect' the sites you would like to remain logged into and on browser exit/restart all not-protected will be nuked.
