help with explorer before i shoot computer

i have win 2000 nt os i was on internet trying to download a web game on yahoo that i have done several times without problems it would not play right after downloading several times so i rebooted computer when i did explorer has generated errors and will have to be restarted leaving me with blank desktop.tryed restarting in task mngr but same thing. i have tryed searching all of microsofts fixes but none seem to fit my problem or scenario. not long ago old hard drive crashed so had new one installed and win2000 was loaded on it but did not recieve a copy or cd with windows 2000 if i did might have been able to fix please help. p.s. not your most computer literate and do have copy drwatson showing error but how do i upload to forum?

You might try to go to microsoft and download the latest update to internet explorer - if it will let you if your browser is not up to date.
you might try using an alternative browser such as firefox:

you may have a pop up blocker in a tool bar such as a google toolbar blocking you.
It is entirely possible that you may have a dose of "spyware" which is creating problems

lastly as a last resort remove internet explorer through add remove windows components and reinstall after rebooting.

error when opening user dump file

first of all thanks for alls help!! and here comes the big but word !! i downloaded the debugger.zip unzipped it and run the program but when i went to open user dump after hitting browse it pops up that it has generated errors like explorer.exe does and ends the task. also downloaded windows debugger tools and im lost there little over my noggin. do i just need to get a copy of my win 2000 install cd or are there any other options? again thanks for the the replies!!!
p.s. if it helps, when i looked at dr.watson file it stated that explorer.exe was an access violation.
