I'm trying to delete a file on my desktop. But I receive a message that either the file is used by some other applications or my hard disk is full.

I've closed all the applications, reboot and tried over and over. But the error message is still showing up and I'm not able to delete the file.

I remember long ago someone suggested a small freeware that deletes the files on startup. But I have forgotten the name.

Does anybody knows such a program?

Any kind of help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
In my opinion the easiest way to get over your problem is to take ownership of the folder concerned. This happens now and again, and sometimes it means that you can't access data in that folder.
MS KB 308421 lays out the procedure.
    Hope that helps,

    Roger
