Today I bought an ECS motherboard with a 2.4GHz processor. It all works fine, but I cannot get the CPU to run any faster than 1.8GHz. In the BIOS settings under the 'CPU PnP Setup' there is a selection for 'ratio' but it says that it is locked. What do I need to do to get my CPU to run at its full speed?

BTW my MB has AMIBIOS if that helps..

    thanks

    Which ECS mb?

Some mb's have board jumpers for internal clock speed. Others have them for the multiplier.

I grabbed a random ECS manual. It looks like in that one, under Frequency/Voltage Control in the BIOS, there is a setting for clock speed. Yours appears to be set at 100 MHz and should be 133 since

    (1.8/100)*133=2.394

    (close enough!).
