    Hi,

I recently installed NS 7.1 and am trying to find the best possible setting for managing cookies. In as much as I dont understand cookies to much and am a beginner I would like to know if the setting I have now in NS 7.1 are good or need to be changed. If you have a suggestion it would greatlt be appreciated

    Settings are as follows:

Enabled for original web site only

Disabled cookies for mail and news groups

Limit maximum life for cookies to be stored (90 days)

I surf around alot to many sites and want to protect my self the best possible way I can. I currently use a cable modem , Linkseys 4 port router Sygate Firewall, Ad Ware 6.181, Spt Bot S&D, Spyware Blaster, Hack This and AVG 6.0

    Regards,
    FireDancer

I have the exact same cookie settings ;)

The only one I changed from the default was switching from accepting all cookies to accepting only those from the originating server. That way. you stop "third party" (foreign) cookies from being set. Have you looked through Netscape7.1's Help Contents? Look in the Using Privacy Features category. Under Privacy & Security Preferences - Cookies it tells you about "foreign cookies" and links to the following explanation:
Here is what the Help Contents say about the other settings.
P.S. I'm using Mozilla 1.0.1, not Netscape7.1 but the Help information about cookies should be similar.
