Is there any way to maintain the internet gateway between two systems running XP Pro, as Everytime I sign off the host (connected to the ASDL modem through USB), it loses the connection and I have to run the Wizards all over again. I'm using AOL if thats any consolation. All other parts of the connection work fine, it's just maintaining an internet connection.

Thank you anyone who can help

Not familiar first-hand with either AOL or USB networking. But the phrase "Everytime I sign off the host " doesn't carry meaning for me in this context. Could you explain what it means?

Also, is it possible for you to connect via an ethernet network card to see if the problem is possibly USB related?

Apologies, I should have been alittle more forth coming. The Host is connected to the Internet via ASDL USB modem. The two computers are connected via PCI ethernet cards (which enable connection, file and print sharing fine) the problems comes that in setting up an internet connection on the 'Host' and then running the wizard on the client, it finds the connection. However, whever I sign off of the internet connection, whether that be to shut the computer down or merely restart for whatever reason, or simply to get off the internet so as to drop the firewall and exchange software between the computers, the internet connection disappears off the client computer, and you have to go through the whole arduous process of running the wizard on both computers again. Is there a way of saving the recognised connection to be reapplied whenever a connection is needed or is it a simply case of having to purchase a router/ADSL router modem?

    Thankfully
