I installed an FTP program for a web site that I am in charge of

not knowing how to use the FTP program & could not get the help I needed for it I want to remove it from my computer.

    I have window XP

this is the error I get when I go into add/remove programs

    could not open logfile'c:\programfiles\freeftp\st5sunt.log'
I went into program files & deleted the FTP folder but I can not remove the program from the add/remove program in my computer

should I reinstall the program & than try to delete it again??
    any help would be great
    thanks
    kathy

It would probably be best to reinstall the program and then uninstall it again. Use add>remove programs first though. It sounds like you deleted the folder for the program first and then used add>remove. If you do that, you'll get a "can't find unistall.log" error message. The uninstall.log that it's looking for is (or was) in the folder you deleted.

After running the uninstall, then check in windows explorer to make sure the folder is gone. If not, you can delete it then.
