ok im trying to install xp to a computer that doesnt have it so i went in nero and make a bottable data disc but when i make the laptops temp boot location D: it doesnt load the cd. if im in dos and type setup when in d:\ it says it cannotbe run in dos mode. what do i do? its not dual boot there is no OS on the system right now. i set the cdrom as the first list in the boot order (in bios) and its not loading up. my xp cd was really scratched so i burnt a copy (had the files on my computer) and i made it a bootable cd with nero. i can get into caldera dr-dos but the setup wont run in there. please help me, if u have AIM my screenname is Removed and msn my email is Removed yahoo is Removed but try AIM and yahoo first. thanks.

It is ILLEGAL to use the XP installation on more than one computer. You cannot just use the install files from an xp cd and make a bootable cd to be used on other computers.

Well...you actually can do just that but you won't get help on how to do it with at this website. You CAN legally download iso images of the xp boot disks and the xp boot files that are on xp cds.
