I m currently running Internet Explorer 6 using a cable modem connection. I am experiencing very long delays (15-30 seconds) in returning control after the page downloads. I cannot click ahead. Often the page appears to have displayed all content, yet I still don't have control back. I cannot click on any hyperlnks, the scroll bar and all menus are locked. I do not have this problem on my laptop connected to the same cable modem through a router. I've reviewed all IE and TCP/IP options and the appear to be the same on both machines. Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

What I would try if I had that issue:

    0. delete temp internet files, cookies and history info, in full DOS mose so as to delete their folders too. (new ones get made at next boot)

    1. remove & reinstall display drivers/get updated drivers if available.

    2. install most up to date MSJVM

  3. to hide this advert.

    Hi
I get a similar problem now and again. Try DISCONNECTING your modem power supply, wait 5 sec & reconnect. There is no need to turn PC off. The modem lights will flicker while trying to reastablish connection then all should be fine & your speed back to normal.
