    Hi,
I've 2 computers and I connected them with cross UTP CAT 5 cable. They have both windows 98 second edition installed. The network connection works well.I can transfer files between them well.In one of the computer, there is an ADSL.I installed Internet Sharing. From client I can connect internet and surf succesfuly. But the host can connect internet but there is no data transfer.None of the page can be opened, none of ftp client or download manager work.My problem is different than other people. They all have problems of " Host can use internet but client can not ".But my problem is "CLIENT CAN CONNECT INTERNET BUT WHEN HOST CONNECT THERE IS NO TRANSFER ".Why?
I removed and re-installed the ICS several times but it didnt work.I also re-installed everything in Control Panel-Network.But it didn’t help.
HOST IP to 192.168.0.1 and CLIENT is "get automatic IP ".But it still doesn't work.I don't know what to do.I think there is a soo simple way but I don't know.Because with client I can access internet and everything is fine but when I connect internet with HOST, nothing page opens. Also FTP doesnt work.
When I try to go to a site with Netscape I got this error." Netscape was unable to create a network socket connection. There may be insufficent system resources or the network may be down. "

And with Internet Explorer I got the error of " Can not find the server or DNS fault(problem).

But even I get these errors I can connect Internet and everything works well with CLIENT.But HOST doesn't open any site.
I installed SYGATE Home Network but it also didn't solve the problem.Do you think I have to format the hdd of HOST and install everything again?
    I really need your help,what can I do ?
    Thank you

No reason to get nearly as drastic as format/reinstall at this point. Start with some easier things.

First try a general cleanup and see if that fixes you up.
    1. Delete all temporary internet files/cookies from IE and the same for Netscape (whatever it calls them).
    2. Dump the entire contents of windows\temp.
    3. Get Ad-aware from Here, scan, and remove all the spyware it finds.
    4. Run a virus scan of all files - using the most recent def files you can get.
    5. Scandisk and defrag.
    6. Boot to DOS and run Scanreg /fix and then Scanreg /opt.

If the cleanup doesn't take care of the problem -
    1. boot to safe mode, remove networking, modem and NIC.
    2. Shutdown, remove the physical modem & NIC, and reboot.
    3. Down again, replace the modem & NIC, start up and reload your modem & networking software. DUN 1.4 is the most recent version (I think) and you should be using it.
    4. Reconfigure ICS and see how you do.

If neither of the above did the trick, reinstall Windows OVER the existing copy (rather than to windows.000 or whatever) which should repair/replace any bad files but otherwise leave your system intact.
