    What happened?
Lately when I try to create a desktop icon, either by dragging or right clicking. The icon appears on the desktop, but when I open it, it opens at the print setup page.

    Thanks
    Davie

davie--Right click on the shortcut (any or all)|Properties and tell us what is in the "Target" and "Start in" lines.

    Appreciate the response Welshjim.

The existing Icons properties have the General, Shortcut & Combatibility buttons.

Now when I place a shortcut on the desktop, for instance my link to EBay,
the properties only shows a General button.

Hope this makes some sense to you.

    Thanks
    Davie

davie--I am stumped if this shortcut has no Shortcut tab. Is this happening only with the ebay shortcut? How did you create that shortcut? Obviously the shortcut thinks the "Target" is Page Setup. If you allow your shortcuts to have the arrow in the left bottom corner of the icon, does this shortcut display the arrow?
    System Restore??

On second thought....to many cooks yada, yada. Sorry, this just looked like to much fun and I found myself responding, impulsively, but I'll sit back and watch, out of curiousity. Jim will get ya' there... :)

    Problem fixed.

The problem only occured while attempting to install shortcuts from the Internet. Ran the repair explorer program.

    Thanks Davie
