HELP! Need Help!I can't uninstall IE 6 (Win98SE)

    I need the components for IE5 to install MS Office; I have 6 installed, can someone send me the link to uninstall 6?

    I can't believe this Microsoft nightmare. I have been at this for a whole day. It started with my computer crashing because of a virus, and I've been installing devices and trying to get back up to speed.

    I have the Office 200 program but cannot install because I need Ie5.01 and can't install that because I have 6. Woe is me.

    I went to Explorer and it's still there it won't die.
    Can I delete the IE 6 files from Explorer? It won't delete from Control Panel.

    You shouldn't need to revert to IE5 in order to install Office.

    I'm trying to UNINSTALL IE 6

    I don't want 6 because I need 5.01 components.

    I think I found it the words are "restore previous version" What a nightmare!

    Still cannot install IE5 because get this mssg: "Setup has detected a newer version of IE...cannot continue." I uninstalled (I think) IE6, but still see the E icon. How do I totally remove this s***

    I have MS Works installed, so I'm going to uninstall it too and hopefully this totally gets rid of IE. Die Microsoft Die!

    Still there -- it won't die!

    I uninstalled MS Works w/ IE, IE is still there. It won't die!

    Please help me totally get rid of IE so I can get the components for 5.01

    No one can should be held hostage like this by a computer company.

    Hey Sal_gal

    Are you sure you got rid of ALL the virus?

    There is no reason IE6 will not be compatable with Office 2000.

    How did you get rid of the virus?

    I have Win98se, IE6sp1 and Office on my computer. No problem....

    I don't have any virii though;)
