Help my computer wont defrag on 1 of the patitions

    hi i need help my pc wont defrag on 1 of my patiancians it tells me to run chkdsk i did and it and it also tells u to run scandisk but it couldnt find it. i really wont to find out how to fix please get back to me asap

    this is wat it says

    deftragmentation of [D:] has been aborted due to inconsistancies that were detected in the file system please run chkdsk or scandisk on [D:] to repair these inconsistancies than run disk defragmentor

    BUT IT DOSNT WORK PLZ HELPPPPPP!:mad:

    Regarding your problem, which is the OS you are running & what's the utility you are using for defragmentation?

    i am running windows xp profesional and i am using the standard defragmeting program witch came with xp pro

    So run chkdsk on disk D (Start > Run then type cmd and press enter, then type chkdsk /f and press enter) .
