I've been tinkering with classic shell start menu, and I'd like to see if I can get used to the Windows 10 native start menu. You can see from my screenshot here, that it doesn't look normal. I'm really not sure what to do. I'd like to get my start menu to where it looks just like everyone else's, and then I can start moving icons around. Is there an option to restore the W10 start menu to default?

Hi Paul, have you uninstalled Classic Shell Start Menu? Have a look in Task Manager > Startup > Disable if shown. Click on Processes > Scroll down to Windows Explorer and Restart see if that restores the Desktop and Start Menu. Neil.

I just did after saving my Classic Shell settings. After a reboot, it still looks the same. I suppose the Classic Shell did something? I will go search their forums.

At any rate, I was hoping that there was some option that would allow me to reset the start menu to the default settings.

FWIW, I have installed the Anniversary Update of W10.

The option was "Use Start full screen." I checked that, and I got a normal start screen. At least, a little bit more normal.
