Help!! I lost my Norton AV driver!!

I thought that I had Scandisk and Defragging learned and stored in my memory bank but I guess not. I disabled all programs with Enditall and disabled my screensaver and started Scandisk. When I checked it there was a window saying "Scandisk has restarted 10 times because Windows or another program has loaded ". So I disabled my Norton AV and tried again. Still didn't work so I rebooted. Another window popped up saying that I didn't have any anti-virus protection because of a missing driver. It said that I should reinstall my Norton AV. I have Norton Systemworks 2000 installed now but have Norton Systemworks 2002 Pro here on a CD. Should I install the 2002 version over the existing one or uninstall the other one first? I have win 98SE. Bobby

 

Unless someone posts to the contrary, I'd suggest that you uninstall the old before installing the new (better safe than sorry!).

 

2002 WILL NOT install over earlier versions.

I suggest you get symclean.exe from the Symantec site to use for the 2000 removal. Quick and slick and doesn't leave any traces to give you problems later.
