What has happened was i have been contacted by my ISP caliming i have a virus sending out large amounts of email. So i called and spoke with them all they could say is that it was coming from me and to fix it lol. Nice tech support Time Warner. Anyways i woke up this morning with 3 errors from windows on my desktop. So i started doing a little reseach as i always have in the past when i have had a virus or such. Anyways i was reading a post on this site about the IE hijacker i had/have isp6mops. I followed the steps on this thread to the end http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=63990. So since i really dont understand the HJT log i was wondering if you could let me know if my system is clean now or not. I did dl and install BHO Demon which is a nice program but all it does is allow you do disable or enable IE hijackers. I want them gone.

Ok here is HJT log

Thank you in advance for taking time to review this for me. Also if there is anywhere i can read up on these softwares and what to look for in viruses, trojans, ect. so i can understand what to look for in future events.

Ok since removal of this ipv6mops.dll i have gotten the blue screen of death 2 times now. Is there a log that windows creates to post the error codes?

Also i have this rpcc.exe that was srunning i have disabled it in msconfig but it is on my system32 folder.

So basically what is happening now is I am playing WoW in full screen and evrytime i alt tab out windows crashes. This is quite annoying seeing as this is the reason i built this new computer in the first place. Asus told me my old MB southbridge chipset had went bad so i just build a whole ne machine.

If you need specs on machine let me know

Hi
Sorry this took so long.

I see you're running the new Trend Micro HijackThis! beta version. We in the forums prefer at this time not to use it, until they have ironed out all the wrinkles, so would you please download the older version, 1.99.1 and run a new log.

* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
• Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
• Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
• Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
• Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
• Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
• At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
• Click on the Scan button.
You will notice the [Scan] button will turn into a [Save Log] button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
• Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
• DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Hi Misticl
I'm not seeing anything in that log.

I do notice that you seem to not have a Anti-Virus running. Do you have one?

If not please download this one and update and run it let it clean anything it finds.
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

If you do have one, please start it and do a complete scan.

After that is done Please download and run this.

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
• Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
• When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Please post the combofix log and let me know if AVG AV found anything.

Geri

Hi Misticl
No Combofix would not have made those changes.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
• Choose your usual account.
• Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
• Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
• It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
• Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
• When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
• Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
• Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Also please run combofix again and post that log also.

Thanks
Geri

Hi Misticl
That is what I was using SDFix to try and Kill.

No, This shoukd kill it.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
• Save it to your desktop.
• Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
• Select:
• Delete on Reboot
• then Click on the All Files button.
• Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\rpcc.exe
• Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
• Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Please run combofix again and post the log.
We'll see if it still there.

Geri

At the pendingfilerenameoperations prompt it said Data was removed by external process

But yes it is still there. Is it possible that the actual virus/trojan or whatever it is is gone just the exe is left in msconfig should i try enabling it and running some of these scans/removal tools to see if it actually runs?

Hi
No that is not a good idea.

OK, I was pointed out a mistake,
We need to run killbox again and copy this into it.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rpcc.exe

Then check to see if the file is still there.
Let me know.

Thanks

I got the same "data removed by External Process" But i also did a windows search for rpcc and it only returns search results of tepm items like google results when i was searching for what it is. But it stilol remains in the startup tab of msconfig after another killbot run and restart. Is there a way to get into the registry and look to see what is going on in there. Also i am not crashing anymore.

Hi
I am finding out what, if anything, needs to be done in the registry.

OK then we will do it manually.

Enable the 'Show Hidden Files/Folders' option, like this:
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Reboot into safe mode.
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore "), please delete these files (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rpcc.exe

After that, Reboot.

Check to see if it is still in msconfig.
Let me know.

Geri

Hi
:(

OK Run SDFix again.

Then please do this,

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As ", in FF it's "Save Link As ") to download Silent Runners.
• Save it to the desktop.
• Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
• You will receive a prompt:
• Do you want to skip supplementary searches?
click NO
• If you receive an error just click OK and double-click it to run it again - sometimes it won't run as it's supposed to the first time but will in subsequent runs.
• You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
• Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Also please give me a start up list.

Create a Startup List

* Open HiJackThis
* Click on the "Config..." button on the bottom right
* Click on the tab "Misc Tools "
* Check the 2 boxes next to the Box that says "Generate StartupList log "
* Click on the button "Generate StartupList log "
* Copy and past the StartupList from the notepad into your next post

Post the 3 logs please.

Thanks
Geri
