I hope I'm posting in the correct place. I am trying to load Norton Internet Security on my computer. I put the disc in, click on "Install..." and it begins to open the program but stops without it being open. I also tried opening it from Start, Run, D:\CDSTART.EXE and Start, Run, D:\SYMSETUP.EXE and can't open it that way. I know it isn't the disc because this is the second norton internet security disc I'm using. I never use the d drive to open programs on a CD so I think I am just now finding out that there is a problem someplace. Can you please suggest what I might try to fix this? Thanks. tere

    What operating system?

Does the drive work for other things like music CDs?

Hmmm. Puzzling and I don't have a quick answer for you.

Have you checked your event logs for entries that may be related?

Do you get any sort of an error message or just nothing when you try to start the install?

I once had trouble installing Norton Internet Security. I don't remember the details but the installation wouldn't finish, freezing at some point. I found out that the culprit was Nero InCD. If You have that packet writing software installed, try uninstalling it.
