    Hello,

Having problem accessing my XP machine from my W2K machine (trying to access printer). I can ping it from W2K machine via IP and computer name, but when I click the icon under Computers Near Me I get the error message:

"\\Xp is not accessible. Logon failure: the user has not been granted ther requested logon type at this computer.

Checked to make sure I have same workgroup name and I do.
Before I would get the dialog box for username and password but it does not comeup. I have since created a user account on the XP machine and still no difference. I am at a loss and any help would be greatly appreciated (and recorded).

    Please describe

Tells us about your network. What is the physical connection like? Are you able to access the WAN from both machines?

Ok..I have the W2K and XP boxes hooked up to Ethernet with a hub in betweeen and a dialup account on the XP box. I can see the W2K box from XP and transfer files, but not the other way around. I tried reinstalling the service pack on W2K with no effect...still get same message

On XP, disable Simple File Sharing. Make sure the account created on XP matches the logged on user in Win2k and has a password (not blank).
