Hi HLCrowder, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:) Hope you win your battle. Let's know if you get stuck in W10. I'm enjoying 4 Upgrades and an Insider comp with build 10532. Cheers Neil.

Welcome, HL Crowder. I was a little earlier than you in programming languages. I just avoided having to do binary as an engineering apprentice, but did ALGOL programming in 1965. We used paper tape for our input and got the results back in the same medium. The company didn't have its own computer, but rented time on an Elliott 803 at Coventry Technical college.

I subsequently worked at NASA and for Boeing, doing programming for real-time flight simulators. I used both Honeywell and Singer-Link assembly languages eventually ending up using real-time FORTRAN.

Now comfortably retired and using computers for family and recreational stuff. Just got W-10 on my Dell lap-top yesterday.

I wish you success in your fight against cancer. My mother developed breast cancer in the early 1970s, before effective treatment had been developed.

Thanks for best wishes. Hoping for surgery soon, but liver problems may make it risky.
My training is in Physics, IT people speak a whole different language. I will try to find things in the forums, just not sure if I can follow all the assumptions when I find stuff
