Hello from Atlanta, Georgia

Just wanted to introduce myself and in the process maybe get a few helpful pointers on my career direction!

I'm Justin, originally from northern NH and relocated to the Atlanta Georgia area. I originally went to school for Computer Science but changed my major when I realized I wasn't doing as well as I'd hoped (whether it was the teaching or my learning level remains to be seen). I'm currently going through the process of getting my master's degree in a dual degree of MBA + MSIS. I have an affinity for technology and computers and typically know how to solve some minor computer issues. All my computer knowledge is either through self-discovery, the internet, or internet forums such as this one.

One thing I ask from the members here is how did you get to be where you are with your knowledge of computers? Was it from schooling, trial and error (read Self-Discovery) or a combination of both?

I want to be much better with computers and software in general, but I'm not sure about the best path to take (other than my current one). Is there a general path to take to be able to get where I'd like to be? Are there free available resources or online tutorials that would allow me to increase my knowledge?
