Just thought I'd pass that on. They're getting closer. I actually like this one. :)

YOu can get it here and then choose your OS to download it.

    Hey stranger!

    Hi Galdor,

I'm using the 6.2.2 Standalone from SillyDog701. I still don't trust 6.x with my mail.

I also like to use this site to download 6.x:
    ftp://ftp.netscape.com./pub/netscape6/english/

I'm sure you noted that 6.2.2 has been out since 3/19/02, but I see little significant difference in this Release than 6.2.1. I like the browser, and glad to hear that someone else is realizing that it is improving. I do warn against using the Mail, however. That still has a long way to go, for stability.

There is a blank page on the ftp site for 6.2.2, but I'm reading on the NG's that it is probably for a newer CCK version. Remains to be seen. The "bdp" is an acronym for Browser Distribution Program. You may have known that, but I didn't.

If you like this Release, then you might want to try Mozilla0.9.9. It is even more stable than Netscape 6.2.2.

    Anthony,

O.K., I finally see it; however, if you will look at the site, you will see that the link I posted is the page link. Also note the first line of the page which also lists the link with the dot after the "com ".

    ftp://ftp.netscape.com./pub/netscape6/english/

    LOL!

Yup, I did note after all the run around that it was the same link, with an http stuck in front.

    Aren't we silly?

For Netscape's FTP server, you are allowed to use...
    ftp://ftp.netscape.com/
    AND
    http://ftp.netscape.com/

However, this does not work will all other sites.

    The extra dot (.) issue:
As I stated, it is fine in this case.
If you really want to play with the dots. You can try..
    ftp://ftp.netscape.com/./pub/
    ftp://ftp.netscape.com/../pub/
    ftp://ftp.netscape.com../pub/

The dots (.) and (..) have their special meaning in UNIX system. I don't recommend putting extra dot (.) unless absolute necessary. That will also confuse other people, and not keeping a good style.
