This has been going on for weeks now. Practically every day I get a reminder about the Critical Service Pack that needs updating and every time I download and restart the computer- BAM! the same update comes back telling me I need to update the same patch again! It is the Q324929- Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6, Service Pack 1. I checked my download history on their site and it shows that I am indeed downloading it. BTW, I do have the SP1 upgrade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I am at my wits end!
The computer stats are: Compaq 5102US, AMD Athalon 1.0 Ghz,
640 Mb of Ram, Windows XP with SP1, and I have my Windows Update setting set to automatically download the update and remind me to install it.

Download this and save it to disk.

Reboot into safe mode and navigate to the file you saved and dbl click.

You may want to clean out your temp internet files.
