Having an xp system restore issue

My computer calendar only shows one month. The system restore shows no bold dates so I cannot restore to an earlier date. When I attempt to go to a previous month in system restore it will not go back. I am not sure what the problem is. Also ie7 will not work. The error is i" internet explorer has encountered an error and must shut down" I loaded mozilla firefox as a second browser and when attempting to use it I received a cannon find server error. I spoke to my isp and they say there is no error on there part. Any thoughts?

Had you recently did a Windows Repair installation. That can cause the problem you have.
