Hi, all:) I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on this topic so I thought I would bring it up. I have noticed, since upgrading to IE 8, that I have multiple instances of iexplore.exe running in the task manager. Seems to be one just for the browser and one for every tab open. Anyone else notice this?

I found an older thread(back in February), in another forum(sevenforums.com), with Google, discussing the issue. I didn't upgrade till about a month ago so IE 8 is still new to me. Perhaps this has already been discussed here, if so I apologize, but I couldn't find anything in my search other than virus related problems.

HI there, yes I have more than one (2) iexplore.exe in my task manager. When I close IE both go away. This is with Tab browsing turned off and when I open a "New Session" from the file menu another instance shows up. With tab turned on I could only find one instance. I think what we are seeing is normal behaviour although you are right when you mention the possiblility of infection/malware as there are some out there that will place many iexplore.exe entries in the task manager.

From what I have gathered through my research this is part of the Tab Recovery in IE8. Nothing to worry about, just noticed it and thought I would point it out. Jon :)
