I ran into some low threat problems with "cookies" (using DATA MINERS) A Windows BBS Friend suggested a program called Bugnosis I called it up and started the download and install "it looked good and thought that I could use it along with my "COOKIEJAR ", but near the end of the installation My SPYWAREBLASTER and My MS Anti Spyware Beta. Both sort of scared me off, with warnings?? "that I would be giving Bognosis full control of my browser? So I backed off and uninstalled just for now. Since then I have done some digging and can not see any real dangers with this software? I was hoping that I could ask? First if Bugnosis does do what it says it can then maybe it does need browser control.(and that may not be a bad thing).and/or has anyone had any good and/or not-so -good experiences with this "Bugnosis" I would really love to try it out. Thanks in advance for any opinions? And all would be welcome. loonychoons

    Hi Loony,

giving Bognosis full control of my browser means that it adds a BrowserHelperObject to IE.

Internet tools > Manage add-ons. I'm sure you currently have some now.

Can't speak to whether this program is good, bad, or indifferent. By the description, it's a waste of time, resources, and effort, my opinion only.

    Regards - Charles

loonychoons--Last time I looked, Bugnosis did a good job of detecting bugs, but gave no info on whether the bugs were harmful or not. And Bugnosis cannot block the bugs. So other than possibly deterring you from again visiting a page with a bug, Bugnosis does not seem to do too much.

    Thanks Friends!

I truly appreciate the advise given, I am going to give the program a try. I pretty well had it's abilities nailed down and already planed on how a I might apply them to my purposes. The little warning message from MS Antispyware ,well just sort of knocked me a little off guard? It almost seemed that they would rather that I not use Bugnosis. Thanks again loonychoons
