I am trying to maximize available memory on my C: 4 gb hard drive running on Pentium II at 233 by eliminating some folders/files. When I look at the data in "My Computer" it shows only 375 mb available. When I click on C: in the address window it shows that C is 414mb total. When I query numerous individual folders under C: and adding them up it seems to indicate no more than 414mb in use. Can this be an error? If so how do I find where the memory is being used?

    Thanks.

If I'm understanding you correctly, 411mb would be the amount of files in the root of the C: drive, not the entire drive. Anyway, If you want to find out what folders are using how much space you can use DiskData to do this. It used to be freeware but now is shareware with a 30 day trial period. You can download the shareware one and try it or you can download the last freeware version here. I can't tell you if there's any difference between the two or not as I've never used the shareware version. The screenshots of it look the same to me though. Give it a try. It'll tell you all you want to know about which folders are using the most space on your hard drive.

Unless I am reading/understanding wrong, I believe you are refering to Disk Space not Memory.
