Resolved Hard drive in device manager, nowhere else

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, have AHCI configured, have an Antec Easy SATA enclosure in my PC, and have a new Seagate drive in it, which needs to be formatted. I was going to back up my machine and made sure all the set up was correct for the Antec "drive ". Drivers have been updated as well. I can find the drive in Device Manager, but that's all. The BIOS shows it as well. Can't access it. I am hoping there is just something I forgot/didn't know. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Would really like to back everything up.

Have you looked in Disk Management - Orb > type in Search 'Disk Management' > click on 'Create & format hard disk partitions'.

If listed there does it have a drive letter? If not assign one to it and you should be able to format.

Thanks - just couldn't find it until I did a search. That seems to have taken care of the issue.

If later you find that the problem has returned, and you had previously marked your thread as solved, follow the steps above. Instead 'Mark this thread as solved' you will see that in this case Mark this thread as unsolved is listed.
