I'm planning, in all likelyhood, to have a new computer built per my specs. Currently I am having 'scratch disc' space problems re: Adobe Photoshop. I guess I could have this problem with other programs as well being that I have a number of large programs (Adobe PhotoShop/Image Ready 7.0, Pagemaker 7.0, Acrobat 5.0, et., Corel Draw Suite 9, Flash 5.0, et.). My 3 year old Dell has a 13.9GB (7200rpm) hard drive that is almost full and thus causing problems. I had thought a 60GB hard drive would surely keep me out of trouble, however, I read that one could (and, perhaps should) assign a seperate drive to cover the 'scratch disc' space required by PhotoShop. I would suppose that I could get an 80GB drive and partition 10GB or so for the 'strach disc' or even, if possiable, wipe clean my 13.9BM drive and add it to the new setup for this purpose. Thoughts? Also, would I format the disc or is this something I should ask to be done at the time of assembly?

Depends on what you want. You can wipe out the 13.9 and use it as a slave. Or if someone else builds your new pc ask them to partition the 80gb drive to your specs. Every hd has to be formatted.
