HI I'm wandering if someone can give me some advice on a harddrive question???

My Toshiba laptop was acting INSANE and I ran all the goodies lookin for any type of bugs in it. Found nothing.... I decided "eh what the heck" saved my stuff and decided to start over and reformat my Laptop with my recovery CD.
During that process got this jargon on my screen TRYING TO RECOVER ALLOCATION UNIT this went on and on for hours. Is my harddrive junked? and if I was to buy a new hard drive (they're cheap enough) how hard would it be to get my Toshiba up and runnin again????

    Thanks

Easy enough to change the hard disk and booting from the Recovery Disk should reinstall the OS and software that the m/c had originally.

Check out your manual re. the use of Recovery Discs.
