    Hi,

I want to know about partition. I also want to know about primary partition, logical partition,
extended partitions and active partition. What we call about these partitions (primary, logical, extended and active partition)? Can we call it as the kinds of partition or what? Where I can get the easy understanding definition, concepts and relation among these partitions in the net? I meant the easy explanation for the layman or newbies like me.

    Thanks for the help.

    Yasmin

    Hi, Picard

Thanks for the links. It's really helpful for me.

Now I read that cluster size for FAT16 is from 2 kb up to 32 kb and FAT32 is from 4 kb up to 32 kb. But other experts says that the cluster is managed by operating system and the cluster size is varied between 512 bytes up to 256 kb depend on the file system and its size. Unfortunately there was no explanation about this opinion. That make me confuse. What file system that use 256 kb of cluster size? What is the incremental size increase of cluster after 32 kb up to 256 kb? Maybe is it 64 kb, 96 kb, 128 kb and ..... up to 256 kb or what? What file systems that use cluster sizes, e.g., 64 kb, 96 kb, etc., etc.?

Where can I find the more comprehensive explanation of this cluster sizes, the file systems that use it and the operating systems that manage or control the clusters and its size in the net.

Once again, thank you very much for your kind support.

    Best regards,

    Yasmin
