I have two profiles set-up within NS7. When I close NS7 (to move to the other profile or do other work), the application does not appear to shut down entirely.

Before I can access the other profile, or access the same profile again, I must first hit Alt>Control>Delete, select Netscape, and wait for the End Task authorization to appear. Once that process is completed, I can launch NS7 again.

Any suggestions to exit that would avoid this process before re-launching?

    "Phantom" Netscape Revisited!

    Hi BirdieBob,

This smacks of Communicator's Phantom Netscape problem, although the workaround is a a bit different. This is the information I received from hb on the Netscape NG:

EDIT | MAIL & NEWS ACCOUNTS | POP 3 ACCOUNT | SERVER SETTINGS
    Disable: "empty trash on exit"

Let us know if this works. If so, I'll put this on my Solutions page.

    Thanks!

    Ramona :D

I'd love to add to your solutions page but we're not there with this one yet.

I removed the checks from Empty Trash Upon Exit for the pop3 server settings in each profile. I also removed the checks from Expunge Inbox Upon Exit for the imap server settings in each profile (just in case). I then opened a profile and:

    1. Exited each profile and tried to re-launch the same profile.

    2. Exited each profile and tried to launch the other profile.

The results were unchanged. 7.0 could not be re-launched without first hitting Alt>Control>Delete or rebooting.

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

    BirdieBob,

Do you by chance have QuickLaunch enabled? If so disable, restart Netscape, and see if this helps.

Quick Launch was and is disabled.

Keep rummaging through the vault and pass any other thoughts as they surface.
