I help some senior citizens learn the email and the internet and I have one couple that it seems as though they are always calling me because they get disconnected from the email often. I've gone over there several times now and fixed the problem for them by going into Outlook Express, Tools Options, Connections, and taking the check mark out of the statement "Hang Up After Sending or Receiving. "

I know they do not know how to go into these settings and manually add the check mark. Could someone please let me learn what is causing this to re-appear every so often to cause the problem of their being disconnected. I would like to correct this so they don't have this problem re-occur.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Jean

Just a wild thought. Tools\Accounts, select email account, then Properties\Connection, take the check mark out of Always connect to this Account using?
Maybe Restart in Dos Mode, then
    scanreg /fix ?
