Can anyone suggest a Windows Vista compatible free handy tool which can reduce the file size of a jpeg file without changing the size of the picture?

IvanH: I'm not using Vista yet, but in XP SP2 all it takes is right-clicking on the .jpg file (not the image itself). A menu opens and "Resize Pictures" is one of the listed options. Does that work with Vista? Let us know, please.

    Hi Bobbo,

In Vista Home Premium, right-click doesn't work that way. The resize picture feature can only be available from email attachment, where you'll be asked.

So, I find a workaround way now:

Right click on the picture, choose Send to, and then choose Mail Receipient. Then a Window pops up and ask you to choose the new size from a few options there. Once chosen, an email will be generated with the picture as attachment, and from the email (before sending out), you can right click on the attachment (i.e. the resized picture and save it somewhere. Then you press Esc to cancel the email.

Now, you can get a smaller picture. But it works for occasional use. If you have tens of hundreds of pictures, you won't find this method efficient and viable. So, eventually, I still need a picture resize program.
