I have noticed it become inconvenient to view certain file types from Firefox. For instance, when I click on a .jpg link, I first have to download the file, then I have to go to the download page, then click "open." Same with .pdf files. I thought I could fix this by changing how firefox handles certain file types. Went to Tools/Options/Content/Manage File types and found --- nothing. No file types were registered. I could find no way to add any. I'm sure things did not always work this way.

How can I set firefox up more efficiently. Many thanks....

Same procedure with every type of file.
Open Windows Explorer, find ".jpg" file.
    Right click on it.
Depending on Windows version, click on "Choose Default Program ", or "More... ".
From the list, pick up a program you want to open ".jpg" files with.
Put a checkmark next to "Alaways open.... ", and you are done.

I hope that the suggestion works. I have a list a mile long in file types. And, I have two Firefox versions, with entirely different settings. The same handling of file types is found also in Navigator 9. I was taking this for granted.
