I have noticed an oddity with 1.5.0.1, which had not bothered me before.
Try the CBC website and select any station. I get only half of the player, from which I can select the type of stream (it is a WMP stream). This is no big deal, but it is with a bank, which gives a choice of the day of payment. I can select the day from a calendar. But, again, only the left half of the calendar is available. Fortunately, they give a choice from a drop down.
I check all my innumerable browsers, including Seamonkey1.0, which is based on the same revision, and they show the entire popup. NS8.1 is, entirely, different maximizing the popup to open it in a new window.
Could anyone check, and if there is any idea, please, let me know. It is not a crippling problem, but it is a problem, nevertheless.

I'm currently using FF1.5.0.1 with no issues. I checked the CBC site I don't seem to have any problem. Also I too use the online banking system at various banks and use the calander to schedule payments I have no issue there either.

Nice system specs though for your machine 512MB RAM 80GHz proc. :D

All I can say is try IE  and see if you get the same problem. It could be something with a plugin or extension thats causing your problem. There is a slight chance it might be video drivers but I doubt that very much.

I will try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to disable the extentions. It is, often, a pain in the neck, because I have no control on certain sites, since I get only the left half of the popup (usually some player).
Video drivers? Only, if they are, selectively, affecting 1.5.0.1, and not 1.0.7, Seamonkey, Netscape7.2, Opera. You name them.
I would like to know if you got 1.5.0.1 as a direct download, or from an incremental upgrade of 1.5. I got the latter. I have 1.5 for such a short time that the problem may be trace back to it.
The two ways to get 1.5.0.1 produce different results.

I think mine was incrimental. But I did do a direct download for another machine and it also has no problems.

You can tell which one you got, and it is a weird way to find out. In the Add/Remove list, you will see MozillaFirefox1.5.0.1 if you got the incremental, and you will see MozillaFirefox1.5, if you got the complete download. It should show the same thing from Help|About MozillaFirefox (unless you have the Firetsomething extention. My User Agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Hyperlemming Firefox/1.5.0.1
The date after Gecko, i.e. 20060111, may be significant, and different between the two.

I had to remove almost all my extentions, but I found a culprit.
It was the Foxytunes extention. either v.1.1.5 and 1.2 caused the problem.
It was one of the last two or three which I suspected, but starting in Safe Mode pointed out the possible culprit. I must have been at it for 45 min.

Good to hear you found what was doing it.
