I have a Guillemot maxi sound muse soundcard that will not work under XP. I have downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers website and unpacked them to a local drive, but XP will not recognise them. The original d/load is an self-extracting EXE but it only provides an inf file, driver files and setup instructions.

There is no information on the website as to XP comaptibilty other than the different OS drivers appear to be identical.

Has anyone come across this card before or any forums or sources of information that might help?

    Thanks

Try a Google search for Guillemot maxi sound muse soundcard - more hits than you can digest at one sitting :D

I did that first but only found hundreds of reviews.

I think I have probably asked the wrong question in the wrong forum. I need to think about how to force XP to accept a driver that I know is good.

Sorted it, went to driverguide.com and used an old driver recommended by someone else.

I would still like to know how to force XP to use drivers though

Glad to hear you found a solution. I don't think there is a way to force XP to accept a driver which it sees as incompatible.
