I have a industrial (Filtec EBI) machine running on Windows NT. I have an occuring fault the operating screen "freezes" but the rest of the machine is still running ok. There is a windows error message coming up -
GUI.EXE-Application error The instruction at "0x006fd6ff5" referenced memory at "0x00000004 ". The memory could not be "read ".
The only way I can get rid of it is if I Reboot the whole machine.
The machine supplier informed me it is the hard drive which I have already replaced.
    How can I solve this?

Can you do a search for GUI.exe and see where on the machine it is located as it is either a legitimate file or could be part of a malware program.

This response based on Google serarch/hit for (Filtec EBI) ... Filtec Empty Bottle Inspector.

Does this computer have access to the Internet?
If YES, via a web browser human user or a very controlled machine access?
If NO, malware should not be a issue. My guess then would be computer hardware, including any interfaces from machine to computer and the wire(s) that connects them. Software / driver(s) would be my next concern. Is it practically to delete/reload the main program?
Knowing what routine GUI.exe provides in this program can only be guessed by it's name. My guess would be view for operator to manage program/machine settings. It is interesting the machine continues to run properly when error occurs. This would suggest a passive device failure. These are very wild / off the cuff suggestions, but monitor / graphics card could fall into this.
