My system (XP Home) has four user accounts - Administrator, All Users, Default User and Owner. Originally there was one called Guest, but somehow that has diisappeared and been replaced by Default without my doing anything to do with accounts.

At logon the system goes straight to the Owner account - can I rename Default User back to Guest, and how do I get the system to offer at least 'Guest' and 'Owner' icons, and preferably 'Administrator' as well? My earlier system had two named accounts which were always offered at logon.

The "Default Account" is a standard account that shouldbn't be messed with.

If you go to COntrol Panel->User Accounts does the Guest acct show up there?

Hi Steve - thanks for your reply.:)

The 4 accounts I listed are the ones named under Documents and Settings in the Folders tree. I assumed that these would be the ones that appeared when opening the User Accounts utility, but no. There, I get only two accounts - Tony King and Guest, and the Guest account is turned on.

Why does there seem to be a mismatch here, and why has the Guest account that used to be in Docs and Settings disappeared?
