I recently downloaded and installed a piece of software recommended by Lavasoft, called GuardedID. It is intended to prevent one's keystrokes from being detected and recorded by ne'er-do-well malware. Well, after installing it, I can no longer employ the driving function in two of my racing simulation programs, GTR2 and GT Legends. As soon as I click "DRIVE" to enter the track, the programs terminate ungracefully.

I've uninstalled GuardedID, and uninstalled and re-installed both sims, and the behavior is the same.

Has anyone heard of this? If so, do you know the fix?

The only suggestion I'd have at this point is to do a system restore to a date prior to installing the GuardedID software.

If Arie's suggestion doesn't work, look at resetting the driving controls in the game/s. Even just set them to some other controls, shut down and restart the game or even the computer , then reset them to the original (defaults?).

PS: Maybe they think you should be guarded from playing those games, you ne'er-do-well :D

I brought my system to a professional PC wizard, and he did his magic and got them working. I hadn't had the checkpoint/restore function active; I didn't even know about it. It's active now...
