Greetings one and all!

Just got through helping my son clean a nasty case of Vundo on his PC. Have to give props (do people still do that?) to ken545 over at the spybot malware forums for helping us out. He recommended this site, so I thought I'd pop by and have a look.

About me, I just turned 53 and been married nearly half that time to the same great lady. Only thing I've done longer then that is worked for AT&T. I've had so many different jobs with them I can't even recall them all. I currently do several jobs within a data provisioning group in Pleasanton, CA. as a jack of all trades support person.

My main interest in PCs started a few years after starting with AT&T right after my stint in the US Navy. My first PC was a hand me down TRS80, dual 5 1/4 inch floppy drives and no HDD. I never looked back. Next new machine was store bought but after that I've built each one myself. Some cobbled from the remains of its predecessors.

Gone the whole gambit of always trying to make it better or faster to now just happy to get the **** thing to boot in a reasonable amount of time and do what I want without making to much noise in the process.

I still play first person shooter online games when the time permits but the teenagers out there put me to shame most days.

I believe you have to keep learning and moving or someone will use you for traction on their way to acquiring their next shiny thing.

Well that's enough of an introduction. Hopefully I'll be able to meet some fine people with like thoughts here.
