I can't get my Gravis Gamepad Pro to work with my Asus A7M266 mb. I run win XP. I've set it to GrIP, as I think I'm supposed to do and the Control Panels --> Game Controllers recognizes it's there but gives me an error when I try to adjust it's properties. It says "connection: ok," but when the error message is: "your game controller is not connected correctly. "

It was just working on my SB Live before I blew that up. BTW if you're reading this and have an SB card that you'd like to part with, please email me.

Anyways this is really frustrating me. I've even looked in my BIOS but my revision (1007) doesn't allow for me to "activate gameport" unless I'm just absolutely missing it. Gravis said that with all my info, they were very sure it was my MB settings and not my Gamepad.

Thanks to anyone that can help!!!!!!

Check in the device manager and make sure there's only one entry for the game port. If there's more than one, remove them all, reboot and see if windows can sort it out when it redetects it. I've run into this once and my brother had the same problem once too. Both times there was two entries for the game port in device manager. Both involved SB Live cards (though I would imagine you aren't using your's anymore). :) Is this a game port on a sound card or a stand alone game port. What kind?
