    Hi all,

    Well, Google has done it again: They've taken a perfectly fine UI and decided to make it worse (and it's not just my NSHO—there's a lot of flack on Google).

    I remember when you had to jiggle your mouse to get Google "s menu to come up. And, one of the fine people here (I think) came up with a tweak to add to the userContent.css that took Google back to "normal ".

    The tweak was:
    @namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
    @-moz-document url-prefix('http://google.'), url-prefix('http://www.google.') {
    #ghead, #sbl, .fade, #fctr{ opacity: 1 !important; }
    }

    and it worked perfectly. Is there anyone here that can make a new tweak?

    The main page. There's a Google in the upper left corner and you have to mouse over it or click it to get to the Google menu (Images, Maps, Gmail, etc.).
    To go back to having the navigation bar across the top.

    Google looks the same as the screenshot TonyT posted...in Firefox.

    In Internet Explorer 9 (Win7, 64-bit), mine shows the drop-down navigation menu on the left side. The menu opens expanded and I have to click to collapse it.

    As others have stated, and as you can see from the thread you posted, it was started in July of this year.

    If they want to design their site that way, it is their choice. Your choice would be to use it or not.

    Indeed, it is a bad link because it got truncated. I right clicked it and copied all the stuff after "windowsbbs.com/externalredirect" http://bit.ly/uZY3L9

    I'll post and click and see if I get to where it's supposed to go.

    NOPE!!! It keeps getting truncated except when I edit this post.

    Arie, why is the address being truncated? I even tried using the code list and it wouldn't "take ".

    I've used a URL shorter, so it works now.

    The redirect can't handle the "& ".

    Realize that Google makes frequent experimental changes to its site often, and these changes occur geographically. In other words, the changes don;t get implemented across the boards, they get implemented in different regions. Google acquires feedback from user and adjusts accordingly if they want to.

    This is the new look, send your comments to Google on this page:
    Go to Google and search for "Google bar’s updated look" (should be first result)

    The new Google navigation drop down is horrendous! Why did Google change to such a horrible layout and how do I go back?

    @ Arie,

    Thanks for the tiny.url thing. Are we going to have to use the URL shortener for all links that have "&" in them?

    As far as Doc's posting Sarah Me's "Thanks for your comments! ", I had to LOL out loud! 99% hate it. Evidently Sarah hasn't read all the negative feedback.

    To get rid of the recent new Google homepage, set the browser homepage or your Google Bookmark/Favorite to:
    Code:
    http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
    This will cause the Google page to appear as it does in my screenshot above.

    complete=0 disables the javascript auto-complete typing function in the Google search box.

    Hi Tony,

    I knew if there was a tweak, you'd be the one to come up with it. :D

    When I'm ready, I'll ask you for another .bat file to get rid of all the stuff in SM 2.5 like the one you gave me for SM 1.x
