The official Google Toolbar, previously available only for MS Internet Explorer, is now available for Mozilla Firefox as well.

    http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/index.html
    • System requirements:
    • Mac OS X 10.2+, Windows XP/2000 SP3+, or Red Hat Linux 8.0+
    • Firefox 1.0+

NOTE: it is still in BETA.

The Google Toolbar has been unofficially cloned for Mozilla and Firefox as Googlebar for quite a while.

I give up. Been trying all morning to install but always says "download problems ".

The key word here is "BETA "?

I prefer the Groowe Search Toolbar.

You get all the leading search engines in one toolbar and when you select a particular engine, you get the toolbars' unique opitons displayed.

I'd be interested in hearing Firefox users who have used both, compare the FF extension, with Google's own offering. As far as beta is concerned, I've heard quite a bit of negative feedback about it--not its functionality, just that the browser freezes all the time when its installed. I guess not all betas are created equal--their beta email is a heckuva product.

I finally got it to install by rt click "save page as" and before I could tell it where to save, it started installing.

The spell check works for web entries (like in this post) so I uninstalled Spellbound which was a mess trying to get to work after a new build. The fill in forms works fine except that it fills in my email address in the name column and is limited to just name, address and email address. No credit card info is done.

Beta is the key word here.
