[Inactive] Google Redirector, plus related tragedies!

Hello. I'm a new member here...I'm happy to have found this forum, but apprehensive that my problem may be hopeless!...anxiously awaiting any advice.
In brief: Tried lots of malware removal types and methods in trying to remove Google redirector. Also found out CD drive, though it will spin, is not being read, recognized, etc...my best guess is that that is virus-caused, also. Windows attempts to start, then sends me to "Windows Error Recovery" screen, where nothing works...cannot start in any mode, or use any of the "Advanced Boot Options ". Putting a recovery disk in the CD drive and selecting that drive to be read first does not help either...spins, but does not open anything. Year old Dell Inspirion laptop running Windows 7 Home. Any rays of hope anyone can shoot me? Would appreciate responses, in any case. Thanks in advance!
    Bob

    Welcome aboard :)

Pretty tough case, if you can't boot into any mode and CD drive refuses to work.

Let me know, if your BIOS allows booting from USB device.
If so, we may try to do something.

Broni...thanks for response, that would have been a smart thing to try and see if the USB was still read...but my girlfriend (it's her computer at issue) decided to just take the problem to Dell. They gave up quickly, and are just sending her a new hard drive, with all operating software preloaded. I wanted to use the virus issue as a learning experience, but gf decided those lessons wouldn't be at her expense..ha! Thanks again...glad I found the forum.
