Google Latitude 'Friends' were shown and working as they should up to about 3 weeks ago, but now the 'Friends' list is not visible on Firefox V12, (desktop or laptop) but can be seen if I switch "rendering engine" to 'IE' in Firefox, or when accessed via IE. I also had my 'Friends' sent 'new invites' but no joy when accepting. No reference to a Google problem when searching the web...and I don't see any option's in either the 'Latitude's tools' or Firefox options that address showing your 'Friends'. Any thoughts?

I have, never, used that feature, and, probably, others haven't either, but what happens to you is normal, if the site is written for Microsoft program. Whyy this would happen now, beats me. Is there any way that you may contact the site developers?

    Westside.. Thanks for the reply,

I don't think "Google Latitude" was written for a Microsoft program.. "Latitude" is a Google Map product. A "plugin" or "add on" might have made it usable in a Microsoft program, like when I switched "rendering engines to a IE tab in Firefox "..

Latitude was working just fine in Firefox version 11. Getting it to work by using the IE engine in Firefox v 12 was just luck. But that luck has ran out. I have since upgraded to Firefox Version 13 and Google Latitude will not work on any of my computers.

As far as seeking help from the developers... seems that all links lead me to there user's forums. Not much luck there.

I did send a email to the webmaster@mozilla.com after updating to v13 and followed a link from Google Latitude (IE engine used) to get "Add on ", and got the error message stating "no plugin" found.

Since this program "Latitude" is only usable from a Google log on session I wondered if my profile or user setting /options have gotten hosed up.. (nothing stands out when I view them).

I might try creating a whole new "user" and start from scratch, but was hoping to find others having the same problem (only to verify there was a problem) and just wait it out until Google gets on board with a fix, addon, or plugin that makes Latitude usable again, but that's not panning out.

I have been having the same problem. It seems to be caused by the IE Tabs Add-On. (If you uninstall it, the problem goes away.) It's also possible to use Latitude on iGoogle, although that's in a tiny window and is kind of annoying.

JamesD... Thanks for the link pointing to " How to force Firefox extensions to be “compatible”"

The info talked about a 2008 version of the Firefox... I'm thinking it might not be needed to "add the instruction" not to “checkCompatibility of extensions” since there's a option to "disable any extension in the current version of Firefox 13. (The IE tab should not be needed when using Latitude in Firefox I'm assuming.)

There was a similar link in the last comment on that link to "make any add-on compatible" but it also was for geared for earlier versions of Firefox.. ..http://problogbooster.blogspot.com/2009/10/make-any-add-on-compatible-to-any.html

Grunthos... I did have success by uninstalling the "IE Tabs add-on" rather then just "disabling" them. Now at least I can view my own "real time" location and the program does "List my Friends" but it now lists them as at "Unknown locations" .

Seems just having the IE Tab Add-On or Extensions "disabled" still caused problems in Latitude. When I uninstalled all IE Tabs, Latitude started to work again, but it still was having a "location" problem. I'm emailing my "Friends" to see if they are up-to-date with all there cell phone apps / software.

Since I can see my own "real time location" & my "Friends list" is now populated I assume there Locations will work eventually.

Thanks to all for the assist.
